the rise of lymphatic treatments
The rise of lymphatic focused treatments is because we are so very dysregulated.
Feeling puffy? Feeling bloated?
Craving lymphatic support?
Often we mistake this sensation for kapha imbalance - the earthy, heavy and stagnant energy of kapha dosha.
However, vata dosha is often to blame and often overlooked. Vata is responsible for movement in the body. When in excess & aggravated, regular, fluid movement becomes compromised. This creates the puffiness and stagnation.
Nervous system stress and disregulation is a sign of vata imbalance. Our lymphatic system will be overloaded if we are not nourishing, grounding and calming our vata.
In the quest for supporting our lymphatic system, it is important that we do not overlook supporting our busy mind and stress response.
Vata regulation responds beautifully to regular, consistent and nourishing self care., as well as tending to the mind..
Yes, lymphatic rituals are wonderful and indicated. However, if we are not working behind the scenes on regulating and supporting our mind and stress response, the movement won’t shift.
Letting go, releasing and bringing lightness to our skin and body cannot happen effectively and long term without our mind letting go.
Letting go of worry, stress, fear and cultivating calm, groundedness and peace can be the most powerful thing we can do for radiant, vibrant and youthful skin.
Spring season requires kapha balancing. However, every season requires us to nourish our vata.
Here are my favourite ways to nourish vata;
Self massage with soothing strokes and warm oil
Deep belly breathing
Evening scalp massage
Express yourself with honest and unapologetic abandon
Be consistent with your self care practices
Prioritise your hydration topically and internally
Castor oil belly massage
Spend more time in nature, less time on devices
Third eye meditation
Surround yourself with warmth, joy, grounding practices and people
